A 5.1 kilograms (11 lb) chondrite-type meteorite breaks into at least seven pieces and lands near the town of Archie in Cass County, Missouri. (10. August 1932)

The French Upper Volta is broken apart between Ivory Coast, French Sudan, and Niger. (5. September 1932)

Amelia Earhart becomes the first woman to fly across the United States non-stop (from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey). (24. August 1932)

The Revenue Act of 1932 is enacted, creating the first gas tax in the United States, at a rate of 1 cent per US gallon (1⁄4 ¢/L) sold. (6. June 1932)

In the Netherlands, construction of the Afsluitdijk is completed and the Zuiderzee bay is converted to the freshwater IJsselmeer. (28. May 1932)

The Battle of Boquerón, the first major battle of the Chaco War, commences. (7. September 1932)

Lou Gehrig and his teammate Tony Lazzeri hit four home runs in one game, and hit for the natural cycle, respectively. These two feats are both less common than a perfect game, which has occurred twenty-one times in one-hundred and twenty years. (3. June 1932)

Great Depression: in Washington, D.C., troops disperse the last of the "Bonus Army" of World War I veterans. (29. July 1932)

The positron (antiparticle of the electron) is discovered by Carl D. Anderson. (2. August 1932)

A bloodless Revolution instigated by the People's Party ends the absolute power of King Prajadhipok of Siam (now Thailand). (24. June 1932)

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake in Gansu, China kills 275 people. (25. December 1932)

In Washington, D.C., police fire tear gas on World War I veterans, part of the Bonus Expeditionary Force, who attempt to march to the White House. (20. July 1932)

Comedian Jack Benny's radio show airs for the first time. (2. May 1932)

Marmaduke Grove and other Chilean military officers lead a coup d'etat establishing the short-lived Socialist Republic of Chile. (4. June 1932)

Radio City Music Hall, "Showplace of the Nation", opens in New York, New York. (27. December 1932)

BBC World Service begins broadcasting as the BBC Empire Service. (19. December 1932)

In Brazil, four students are shot and killed during a manifestation against the Brazilian dictator Getúlio Vargas, which occurred in the city of São Paulo. Their names and surnames were used to form the MMDC, a revolutionary group that would act against the dictatorial government, especially in the Constitutionalist Revolution ("Revolução Constitucionalista", in Portuguese), the major uprising in Brazil during the 20th century.
